ISO 13485 is the international standard for quality management systems for companies that manufacture medical devices. This certification defines the requirements for quality management systems for the design and development, production, customer care, and installation of medical devices.
ISO 9001 specifies the requirements for a quality management system where an organization:
- Needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and
- Aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable regulatory requirements.
ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) Registered
ITAR is a set of United States government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), and are described in Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter I (Department of State), Subchapter M of the Code of Federal Regulations. The US Department of State interprets and enforces ITAR. The regulation’s goal is to safeguard US national security and further US foreign policy objectives.
